Forest School Report: Zac and Hannah!

This week at forest school we started off doing an activity in teams passing a hoop from one person to the next person without using out hands, it wasn’t allowed to touch the floor either. It was tricky at first but we did it! The second activity was where we had to do a tree hunt of 6 different trees and complete a rubbing of them and guess which one was which of another pair. Then we had the challenge to build a shelter that stood up by itself using only sticks and one piece of string it could protect nature and ourselves. It rained so heavy we came in a bit early and had our warm drinks inside with a singalong!  From Forest school reporters, Zac and Hannah Year 4.

Not so chilly children!

We have certainly needed to wrap up for forest school this week! Well done to everyone who has brought lots of layers to wear! Make sure you do the same next week!

Hello, my name is Zac Harris. I am a member of 4EC, we do Forest School on a Thursday afternoon with Miss Hughes. Forest school isn’t quite so easy for me because I have to go down in a wheelchair. In school I use my walker but the ground in Forest School is too tricky for me to walk on. When I’m in Forest School I need help from my teaching assistant Miss Allman, and sometimes Mr Jones helps her out with me too.

I really enjoy Forest School, being in my wheelchair does not stop me joining in! I have been pond dipping, I’ve made an animal habitat and I’ve even dyed clothes with rose petals. My favourite thing I’ve ever done was splash in mud; I’d never done it before. Mr Jones and Miss Allman held me up whilst I stood in a sandpit full of mud, when I began splashing hard suddenly a toad jumped out, it scared me!

I doesn’t matter what you can and can’t do, you’ve just always got to give it a go!!!
