3JB TOAD HUNTERS!

We found 3 toads in forest school yesterday. "We were so happy to see them under the barefoot trail, we were looking for woodlice but found these!"

6BC Forest school reporters!

Today we were in groups or partners to build survival shelter and see whose would win and get a prize. Josh.t said ‘he likes to get wet every time in the washing hand bowl ‘most of the class enjoy it’. these are the things we tend to do:

·       Make dens

·       Make nests

·       Make fires

·       Make animal traces

·       Grow plants

·       Gardening

·       Map reading

·       Animal identification

·       Pond dipping

·       Bug hunting

Thank you Homebase!

Some of the pupils in 6ED wrote to local shops last week to ask for help improving our forest school area. Homebase were the first to reply and donated us lots of goodies! We can't wait to get started on our projects!

Super 6ED!

A huge well done to 6ED for winning a forest school star award last week! They were so kind, helpful and caring to their eggs and to each other during our lesson, I thought they all deserved the award! As you all know being caring is a key value for forest school. 

They were even treated to popcorn the following lesson!

Egg-sellent nests!

We made some egg-sellent nests in forest school this week. We had an 'adopted egg' to look after for the whole session and built our egg its very own nest, where it could be warm and protected. 

What would you do to make your nest special? 

Remember to keep an eye out for nests in your back garden or in the park!

We have started with our new classes this week and what a week it has been!

2 lessons in beautiful sunshine.... following terrible wind and hail in the morning!

Well done to the children for completing a field study. They were finding lots of insect species, collecting them gently and marking on a map where they found them.
